Сейчас “нигилисты” покидают рок, а формы рока остаются. Но это лишь формы, а не суть. Суть же была именно в “подпольном” мироощущении. Рок — молодежная нигилистическая религия, наполненная пафосом отрицания ценностей старого поколения, отрицания “веры отцов”. “Отцы” — рационалистичны, живут спокойной жизнью, любят комфорт и деньги. “Дети” все это отрицают, предпочитая иррациональную свободу и бунт сытой и спокойной жизни, цветы — вещам и деньгам, свободный секс — культу семейного благополучия. У “отцов” родились “внуки” — точь в точь “в дедушек” уродились. “Дети” стали “отцами”. И теперь новая молодежь любит деньги и смеется над “идеалистами”. Рок был побежден новым конформизмом. “Папаши” рокеры в ужасе от своих не в меру деловых и “бездушных”, “бездуховных” детей. А дети стали искать в музыке музыку и увлеклись другой формой псевдо-музыкальности — примитивной псевдо-красивостью, ненавязчивым фоном современной жизни. “Рокеры” расцветали на фоне культуры “отцов”. Это не была, конечно, “высокая культура”, но здесь было почтительное отношение к культуре, некая ее сакрализация.
“Вот Моцарт — это, сынок, нечто высокое и святое, нам с тобой не понять, но уважать необходимо” — такова была массовая логика тех лет. “А почему, папа, Моцарт — это “святое” и почему его необходимо уважать?” — спрашивали дети и не получали вразумительного ответа от отцов, которые сами “не понимали, но уважали”. И на смену “уважению без понимания” пришло “неуважение”, бунт.

And the children began to look for music and the music carried away by another form of pseudo-musical – a primitive pseudo-beautiful, unobtrusive background of modern life. “Rockers “flourished against the backdrop of culture fathers.” It was not, of course, “high culture”, but there was respect for the culture, a kind of sacralization.
“That’s Mozart, something high and holy, we don’t understand, but respect the need” – such was the logic of the mass of those years. “Why, father, Mozart – it is” holy “and why it should be respected?” – asked the children and did not have a clear answer from the fathers, who themselves “don’t understand, but respect.” And children replace the “respect without understanding”by disrespect and riot.
